Student Services

Faculty

As Student Services reflect on 2023, we can look back proudly at the growth, commitment and care students have shown throughout the year. This year, we have seen a significant increase in students seeking support for their learning. There has been a strong sense of pride in individual improvement and we thank you for being so willing to work closely with us.

The physical space was transformed in 2023, with the inclusion of additional table sets, plants and an outdoor cover to increase the usability of the space all year round.

The staffroom has been a hype of activity year round, with programs such as Top Blokes, Strength, Shine and Cooking Group continuing.

In 2023, we welcomed the Raise Mentoring program into our school community, with 15 students graduating from the program. It was an emotional graduation and one of Mrs Hoole’s favourite moments from the year. Mr Fabila also introduced Drum Beat and Didge Group, with sensational sounds and positive application shown by all students involved. Mel Gould also delivered the Rage program.

Breakfast club was introduced by our wonderful Student Support Officers, Mel Gould and Olivia Walton. The club has over 100 students visit every week. To all students who have come through, your respect, kindness and morning hello’s have made our Thursday mornings a little brighter. A big thank you to Bakers Delight at West Gosford and Kelloggs for their donations.

Celebrating Achievements

We take immense pride in the accomplishments of our students. Throughout Term 4, we’ve celebrated academic milestones, personal growth through wellbeing programs, and community contributions, fostering an environment where each achievement is valued and acknowledged.

Top Blokes

The following Year 9 students graduated from the Top Blokes program this term:

Lachlan Glasson, Jo Hood, Jozua Homer, Nicholas Venuto, William Hunter, Micheal James, Rylan Bryan, Charlie Willcox, Hugh McLaughlin, Jayden McDonald, Ryan Hill Boston Miller and Craig Healey. You are a wonderful group of young men!

Drumbeat Program

Throughout Term 4 Mr Fabila has been running Drumbeat with 10 students from years 7 and 8.

Holyoake’s DRUMBEAT is the world’s first structured learning program using music, psychology and neurobiology to reconnect with ourselves and others.

The name DRUMBEAT is an acronym for Discovering Relationships Using Music, Beliefs, Emotions, Attitudes, and Thoughts. DRUMBEAT incorporates hand drumming, behavioural therapeutic principles and cognitive and dialectical elements to achieve positive outcomes. It is estimated that over 100,000 people around the world have participated in and experienced the benefits of the program so far.

Christmas Hampers

Student Services have had the pleasure of providing Christmas hampers to some very grateful families across our school community. We would like to thank the P&C and the SRC for their generous support.

Thank You

As we approach the new year, we’re excited about the prospects it holds. We remain dedicated to ensuring that every student feels empowered and supported in their educational journey.

Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education and well-being. We look forward to the continued collaboration and success in the coming year.

Have a wonderful and restful holiday season!!
