Vale Tae Yoon Jin

27/6/2012 - 3/11/2023

Tae Yoon started Galilee in Prep in 2018. He very quickly became the child that everyone knew, but in turn he knew everyone.

People were important to Tae, and he had an incredible way of making you feel special. Tae Yoon loved school, his friends and teachers.

He made us laugh and made us slow down to think of what really matters. Even though Tae Yoon spent much of his last 2 years in and out of hospital, he was still able to connect with all the doctors and nurses at RCH and made it his second home.

Tae Yoon has well and truly left his mark on the world. In his 11 years, Tae Yoon lived life to the fullest and we should all remember to embrace moments with joy and happiness.

Tae Yoon may have left this world, but his spirit will be with us forever.

Vale Tae Yoon, may you rest in peace.

Thank You - From Tae Yoon’s family

Thank you everyone for supporting us and loving us. My family was so touched by your incredible support and heart throughout Tae Yoon's tough journey as well as his final celebration. I was totally overwhelmed by the amount of love from everyone. I have no words to express how grateful I am.

It is so painful and still hard to believe that he's not around but the care and love from everyone gives me strength to stand up.

Tae Yoon really loved everyone at school and he loved being at school. His spirit will stay with Galilee forever.

Thank you for loving him.

Thank you for letting him love you.

Thank you for all your support and care for Lea and I.

We will never forget how much we are loved and will work hard to keep Tae Yoon's spirit going.

From Seol (Tae's mum)

I’ll Never Forget - A Reflection by Brighid Deamer

I’ll never forget your infectious laugh.

I’ll never forget your cheeky smile.

I’ll never forget how much you made me laugh.

I’ll never forget the way you made me feel special.

I’ll never forget your photographic memory - something I wish I had!

I’ll never forget when you’d get cross at me for an incorrect drawing

“No Miss Fahy, that’s not how you draw the Lamborghini!”

I’ll never forget the things you loved, like fast cars, Spider-Man, Transformers, books, people, building, playdough and music.

I’ll never forget the way you’d sing along to your favourite song.

I’ll never forget your foot tapping along to the beat, or your dance moves when we played a great tune.

I’ll never forget the special lunch times we spent together - eating dim sims and Facetiming everyone close to me.

I’ll never forget how bossy you could be.

I’ll never forget how you tried to teach me Korean.

I’ll never forget how excited you would be when you wanted to tell a story.

I’ll never forget how much you loved being in the garden club at school.

I’ll never forget your bravery.

I’ll never forget how much you loved a drink of milk.

especially if we snuck you into the staffroom!

I’ll never forget that you remembered everything about someone, including how to spell their name and just as importantly the car they drove.

I’ll never forget how you made me try every dish and drink at the Korean BBQ.

I’ll never forget how you made people feel loved, appreciated and welcomed into your life.

I’ll never forget how much love you had for your family and friends.

I’ll never forget to say “I love you!” when I end a conversation with someone I love, just like you did.

I’ll never forget YOU, Tae Yoon Jin.
