Sustainability Sharing Day
Last week our Environment Club SRC leaders spent some time with their mentor Mrs Watt and a special guest from Narranga Public School - sustainability expert Mrs Dowel. This opportunity was a result of the generosity and expertise of Narranga Public school in the area of sustainability. Our 2023 and 2024 SRC reps and members of the Environment Club and Garden Club contributed to the planning of our work in this area for 2024.
Native Bee Hive Arrival
Monday 27 November we took possession of our native beehive. We have been working with Bob from Clarence Native Bees who completed a formal handover at school Monday morning with Josh and Elizabeth our 2024 Garden Club SRC and Gabby and Ezra our 2024 Environment Club SRC.
The native hive has been mounted under the tallowood tree just near the Yarning Circle. This hive will give our students a first hand opportunity to learn about these amazing creatures. Bob and his wife Robyn completed a formal handover which includes the history of the hive, a honey sample and the educational recources for our classes. Our SRC reps even got to have a taste of this native honey - it was very strong!
Special thanks to Bob Moulds at Clarence Native Bees for organising this for our school and Garage Doors and More - Coffs Harbour who donated their truck and driver to deliver this precious cargo.
