International Day of People with Disability

International Day of People with Disability

Every year on  December 3, people around the world take part in the International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD). This is a day to raise community awareness, understanding, and acceptance of the 4.4 million people with disabilities in Australia.

We encourage all parents to be part of creating an inclusive and diverse community, here are a few ways to do so:

  1. Educate Yourself: Take the time to learn about different types of disabilities, their impact on individuals, and the challenges they may face. Please see the official website for more information: https://www.idpwd.com.au/about/
  2. Raise Awareness: Use social media and other platforms to share information about International Day of People with Disability.
  3. Engage in Conversations: Start conversations about disabilities, inclusion, and diversity with friends, family, and colleagues. Breaking down stereotypes and fostering understanding will lead to a more inclusive society.
