STEM
Spring is in the air, and thanks to our greenhouse, our students have been able to witness the entire lifecycle of plants. Seedlings are carefully nurtured within the greenhouse, allowing students to observe growth from germination to maturity. To further extend the learning experience, our students harvested beetroots and transformed them into delicious beetroot chips. This not only involved learning about nutrition and cooking but also showcased the versatility and creativity that can be found in STEM.

Foundation Students: That's My Hat!
Our foundation students have been exploring the observable properties of different materials and how these properties influence their use. Students get to design and create their very own hat, which is not only stylish but also functional. These hats are specially designed to be worn in both sunny and rainy conditions. Students will learn about the properties of materials that make them suitable for different weather conditions, sparking their curiosity and enabling them to think critically about everyday objects.
Grade 1/2: All Mixed Up!
The grade 1/2 students have been exploring mixtures. They've investigated which solids can be mixed with other solids, which liquids can be mixed with other liquids, and combinations of solids and liquids. Through hands-on activities, students are learning how materials can be combined to serve different purposes by engaging in experiments and discovering the various ways mixtures can be used in our everyday lives. Additionally, they will explore how mixtures are created and whether they can be separated once they're all mixed up.
Grade 3/4: Melting Moments
The grade 3/4 students are learning how the addition and removal of heat can transform a substance from a solid to a liquid and vice versa. Through experiments and investigations, students will grasp the idea that heat plays a crucial role in altering the properties of materials.
Grade 4/5/6: What's the Matter?
The Grade 4/5/6 students are exploring the three states of matter: solids, liquids, and gases. Students will learn about the unique properties that characterise each state and how they behave under various conditions.
