Year 1/2

Term 4, 2023

1/2 Stay Late

Our Grade 1/2s had a wonderful time at the Stay Late on Wednesday 8th November. They participated in a number of activities: Minute To Win It, Kahoot and Musical Chairs. Students enjoyed pizza and cordial for dinner while watching the Super Mario Bros Movie. After the movie, they had an ice-cream and outside games. We had wonderful feedback from the students, thank you to families for your support.

French Day

Thank you to all families for supporting French Day, students looked incredible and they had a wonderful time participating in French activities. They enjoyed learning facts about France and many enjoyed making spaghetti Eiffel Towers.

Maths

In Maths, students have been learning to collect, record and interpret data. Students loved using M&M's to complete a table and graph. These made for colourful and creative displays, evidence of 'real life' maths.

English

As a Year 1/2 group, we have been learning about persuasive techniques such as repetition, rhetorical questions and using facts to build an argument. Students have completed sequencing tasks, viewing picture story books with emotive language and are beginning to write their own persuasive speech. What would you prefer..... to live in a castle or to live in a treehouse?
