Community Recognition for Act of Kindness

We are delighted to share a heartwarming story of kindness from one of our outstanding Year 11 students, Sidney. On Friday, November 17th, Sidney demonstrated exceptional compassion and assistance at Wentworth Falls train station.

A community member recounts Sidney's crucial support when her friend's sister-in-law was inadvertently left behind at Leura train station without essential belongings or the ability to communicate in English. Facing a dire situation, Sidney, adorned with a white ribbon, offered his help when no one else could.

Despite the absence of station staff, Sidney stepped forward and volunteered to drive the distressed group back to Leura, showcasing not only his kindness but also his recently acquired driving skills.

In just half an hour, Sidney's calm demeanor and conversation skills alleviated the anxiety of the stranded group. His efforts also resulted in a joyful reunion with their family member. Little did Sidney know, his timely assistance played a vital role in easing the trauma of distressed parents, who had lost their youngest son in the MH17 tragedy seven years ago.

What makes this story even more remarkable is that Sidney, by chance, shares a Dutch heritage with the family he helped. It's moments like these that reaffirm our faith in the compassion and resilience of our young community members.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Sidney for being such an exemplary young man.

Thank you, Sidney, for embodying the values of kindness, empathy, and community spirit!

Bandana Day Fundraiser

This year we sold a whopping 120 bandanas for our annual Bandana Day fundraiser. Next year, let's aim for 200!

A big shoutout to all the students, staff, and parents who jumped in to support this great event. Your hard work paid off big time, raising $400 to put towards children and young people battling cancer. Mr. Hoffmann had to restock the bandanas not once, but twice!

We exceeded expectations, bringing our school family even closer. We are proud that we could honour Sam Griffin's memory like this and can’t wait to keep it going in the future!

Congratulations, everyone!
