Showcasing a year of creativity

We are delighted to share the success of last Wednesday's Annual Art and Design Show and were thrilled to see a fantastic turnout of students, their parents, family, and friends. It was a great opportunity for the Northcote High School creative community to come together in celebrating the achievements of our students.

The evening showcased the talents of our Year 9 rock band, featured an inspiring speech by former student Yianni Rowlands, and highlighted the achievements of the Northibald Prize winners and Year Level Art winners. It was truly a celebration of the incredible artwork our students have produced throughout the year.

The C Block was decorated with native Australian birds, designed by Year 10 VCD Illustration students for one of their projects. It also featured the blue dot decorations, recycled hanging blue bottle caps and a wonderful spread of food hosted by the school, for all to enjoy. To stop and acknowledge the marvellous artworks, pause and read the didactic information and make connections to the deeper meanings hidden inside the works, allowed many people to have a meaningful as well as fun experience. 

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the staff and students who worked tirelessly to ensure the night was a resounding success. Your dedication and hard work are truly appreciated.
