Park Orchards Market is looking for a new Market Manager! Could it be you?

The Park Orchards Ratepayers Association (PORA) is looking for a new Market Manager for the Park Orchards Market commencing 2026. You will be well supported to transition into this role by the current Market Manager and team.

The opportunity:

Perfect for an individual or job share situation.
A true lifestyle work opportunity with flexible hours (apart from market day) and good support from the PORA Committee.
A very well-established market (running for 15 years) with loyal and awesome stallholders, fully streamlined systems and significant community goodwill.
Manage all operational aspects of the market.
Approximately 35 hours per month, including market day.
Financially rewarding under a License Agreement.
Must be able to provide your own staff to assist with bump in, set up, cleaning and bump out.

Highlights:

Operates on the third Saturday of each month. No market in January and the Christmas Market is on the second Saturday of the month, instead of the usual third Saturday of the month. Open from 10am until 2pm.
Extensive range of stall holders. A great mix of long-term permanent, part-time and casual stall holders.
Good foot traffic from all over Melbourne. Loyal market attendees.
Set in the beautiful grounds of Park Orchards Primary School. A family-friendly, inclusive venue with playgrounds for the kids to explore. Excellent disabled access and parking available.

About you:

Previous events or group coordination experience preferred, but not essential.
Highly organised, systems person.
Excellent administration, verbal and written skills.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail.
Multitasker who is proactive and assertive.
Must be social media savvy.
A community minded, people’s person.
Prepared to work in all weather conditions, as this is an outdoor market.
