Year 6

On Friday, October 24th, and Wednesday October 29th, the year six students visited Oberon for a half-day high school experience. They also met the Oberon school therapy dog named Obe. During their visit, the students participated in two subjects: English and Maths.

The students had a double period where they wrote scary narrative stories. We were given a choice of settings: a haunted mansion, a graveyard, an abandoned fair, or a destroyed bookshelf. Most students chose the haunted mansion and filled their stories with various scary elements. In the math lesson, the students explored geometry by finding eleven different nets to construct a cube. We had geo shapes to help with the challenge. We also created other 3D shapes out of paper by gluing the sides together.

The Year 6 students were also given a tour by Priscilla, the Assistant Principal, then returned to ACS at 1 PM. The fun high school experience day provided a positive and fun "taste of high school life," and the students are looking forward to their final transitions to their chosen high schools in December. 😃
