Talkfest 2026: Save the Date! 

The Friends of Northcote committee have been hard at work planning for next year’s community and fundraising events. We are delighted to announce our first event for 2026 will be the annual Talkfest literary evening, taking place on Thursday 12 March (Term 1). 

The theme for 2026 will be Writing Difficult Topics.

Polite disagreement seems like an ancient art. How do we discuss tricky topics in the modern age and is writing about them easier than talking about them? Meet three writers who don’t shy away from controversial topics, and find out how they process, publish and promote their dangerous ideas.

Our incredible line up of authors includes Sofie Laguna, Maxine Beneba Clarke and Claire Coleman.
