SPOTLIGHT

YEAR 5

In our time at Lake Keepit we did bike riding, mud run, slip n slide, goose chase, games night, raft building and team games and initiatives  at the pool, then archery tag (Mrs Henn was very into it) and finally we had some  damper. By far I'd say the best one was the night activity 1 - the goose chase, because it was very fun recreating and taking photos with friends trying to get it right.

Lake Keepit was a very fun experience for me. Some highlights that I had were when we did the mud run, getting muddy, dirty and completing obstacles in a team. The slip and slide was down a massive hill getting full of soap and if you were me, going down it at full speed and nearly flying off the edge. Archery tag was another fun activity where we got to wear these funny looking helmets while being able to hit and target people without getting into trouble.

- Mia L

I liked the mud run the best because you could get so dirty and then you got to do the Slip and slide and you got clean! You got to race everyone and see if you could beat them in the race. Thank you for organizing this event for all of us, I think everyone loved it and had a great time so thank you.

- Christian I

My favorite food was the breakfast and the spag bol. The dinners had multiple drinks like juice cups and milk bottles and the breakfast had more options than the dinner, like bread, eggs, hash brown and toast. My favorite activity was the mud run because the team work was the best and the mud on everyone was insane. And the funniest thing was the goose chase and the Captain Underpants objective - it was the funniest. The cabins at night time were a nightmare for the teachers. The best person there was Stuart, someone who ran the camp, he was the best. Everyone say “Oooh Lake Keepit!”

Thank you for a amazing time at Lake Keepit. I had the time of my life out there. My favourite thing was everything, but something was just spending time with my classmates, my friends and also spending time with people I sometimes don’t talk to or play with.  I loved spending time with my teachers!

- Lucy S

Camp was fun. We did lots of fun activities like mudrun, archery tag, pool games and damper making. I even saw lots of  kangaroos near our cabin. There were lots of them! - Catherine R

The Lake Keepit excursion for me was a 9.99999 out of 10.

- Flynn C

Most of all, Lake Keepit taught us how to be responsible and how to be  great leaders getting ready for next year. We had to clean our own cabins and help teammates and friends through challenges and do new things none of us had done before. Overall Lake Keepit was the best thing we had ever done, it was amazing!

- Annie D and Lilly B

Year 5 had an absolute blast at camp. Many thanks to staff and parents that gave up their time to come along and provide such a wonderful opportunity for our Year 5 students. We can't wait to do it again next year!

YEAR 1

Moo-ving Adventures: Year 1 Explores Farrer Farm!

On Friday, 7/11/25, our Year 1 adventurers swapped their classroom desks for the sprawling fields of Farrer, and what an incredible day we had getting a taste of farm life!

We kicked off the day diving deep into horticulture, learning about how things grow. The best part? We became mad scientists and planted our very own rye grass head creatures! If your child’s little green friend is currently sporting a full, spiky hairdo at home, you know they did a great job!

Next, it was off to the hen house for the ultimate scavenger hunt: egg collecting! The chickens were perhaps a little too friendly, as a few children came back having collected not just eggs, but also a few rogue birds! After our feathered friends adventure, we stepped back in time to explore the original Walk-through Dairy and peeked into the spot where the fresh milk was stored. It was fascinating to see how farming has changed!

The absolute stars of the show were the adorable poddy calves. Our students were thrilled to feed and pat these fluffy youngsters. There were lots of gentle hands and big smiles all around!

Our learning was perfectly wrapped up by connecting these activities to our Science and Technology unit on sustainability and looking after God's creation, the Earth. The most delicious way to finish a lesson? Making pancakes and ice cream in a bag using fresh farm produce! The verdict: absolutely scrumptious!

A huge, heartfelt thank you to our incredible teachers for organising this unforgettable and fun excursion, and massive appreciation to all the welcoming staff and students at Farrer who guided us and shared their wonderful school and farm with us.

Please enjoy looking at the photos from our adventures!
