Book Fair Update
A Big Thank You to Our Library Volunteers!
A huge shout-out to Ms Lee and our amazing library volunteers who have been working hard to prepare the Book Fair donations for our students this week. We have already started handing out these fantastic books to the generous students who donated them. This way, they get to enjoy their book before it officially becomes part of our library collection for everyone to love and cherish.
Over the coming week, Mr Matthews will visit classes to deliver books to any students who missed borrowing them on their library day. If your child donated a book, please ensure they bring their library bag to school every day so they can safely take their new book home as soon as it is ready.
If your child does not have the official school library bag, no problem! Canvas totes, synthetic bags, or large zip-up plastic or fabric bags work perfectly well. We do ask that disposable plastic or paper bags are not used, as they do not protect the books properly.
Thank you for helping us keep our books safe and our readers happy!
Reading at Home
Reading opens up a whole new world, and we want to encourage the Chatswood community to find time to read with your children. Just ten minutes before bed can make a big difference. Sit together, explore a book, and take turns reading. For older children, consider setting aside half an hour on the weekend to switch off devices and enjoy some quiet reading time. You might be surprised how this sparks great conversations around the dinner table or even inspires a new love of reading for the whole family.
With the end of the school year and the holiday break approaching, now is the perfect time to build reading into your daily routines. Talk with your children about the kinds of books they enjoy or their hobbies, there is a book out there for everyone!
Don’t forget that our library also offers an e-library platform accessible through the student portal. This means reading can continue anytime, anywhere, with e-books and e-readers available to all students.
From all of us in the library team, have a wonderful week and happy reading!
