World Kindness Day – Wednesday 13 November
Next week we’ll be celebrating World Kindness Day, a wonderful opportunity to reflect on how kindness helps build a positive and respectful school community.
At Solway, kindness connects directly to our School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) values:
Respect: using kind words and actions towards others
Responsibility: taking the initiative to help or include someone
Resilience: showing kindness even when things don’t go our way
Classes will be exploring what kindness looks, sounds, and feels like, and how one small act can make a big difference.
We also encourage families to join in at home! You can find a wonderful set of Kindness Challenges in this World Kindness Day Booklet
Here are a few ideas to get started:
Write a kind note or draw a picture for someone special
Help out with a job around the house or garden
Share a compliment with a classmate or teacher
Do something kind for yourself, like taking a break or reading your favourite book
Let’s see how much kindness we can spread across our classrooms, playgrounds, and community this week!
