SSV STATE TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS
A huge shout-out to Charlie B (5SM), Arlo C (5ND), Jackson H (5ND), Sophie M (6JH), and Chris W (5ND), who proudly represented themselves and Greenhills PS at last week’s SSV State Track & Field Championships!
This is the pinnacle of primary school athletics in Victoria – and what a day it was! There were medals won, personal bests smashed, and unforgettable moments on the biggest stage of all.
Results:
- Charlie B: Boys U11 4x100m Relay – 🥉 Bronze Medal
- Arlo C: Boys U11 4x100m Relay – 🥉 Bronze Medal / Boys U11 800m – 10th (huge 5 second PB!) / Boys U11 High Jump – 12th
- Jackson H: Boys U11 4x100m Relay – 🥉 Bronze Medal
- Sophie M: Girls U12 Discus – 6th (massive 4m PB!)
- Chris W: Boys U11 4x100m Relay – 🥉 Bronze Medal
Reaching the State Championships is an incredible achievement – one that only a tiny handful of students across Victoria can claim. Considering that close to 100,000 students began this journey at the District level, making it to the very top is something truly extraordinary.
The entire Greenhills community is so proud – you’ve represented yourselves, your families, and our school amazingly. Well done, legends!
COMMUNITY SPORTING ACHIEVEMENTS
Huge congratulations to Ryan E (4SH), Hudson M (4SH) and Parker L (4DS), who represented their Eltham U12.1 rep team at the Craigieburn Tournament! They battled it out in the top division (U12 Championship) and came away with the grand final win!
An incredible result and something to be really proud of — well done, boys! 💪🏼
A huge congratulations to Emily B (5SM), who has been taking an art class through Living & Learning Nillumbik. Last Friday, the diversARTy Exhibition opened at the Eltham Library Community Gallery, showcasing some of her amazing artworks!
What a fantastic achievement, Emily — it’s wonderful to see your creativity and talent on display for the whole community to enjoy! 👏
If your child achieves something special (grand final win, most valuable player award, best and fairest etc.), please email me (jordan.daley@education.vic.gov.au) through photos and an overview of the achievement to post in Contact. It is important to celebrate and recognise such successes with the school community.
Thank you,
Jordan Daley
ARTS ALIVE 2025
Last night, Montmorency Secondary College hosted their annual Arts Alive Exhibition and Awards Night - a wonderful celebration of creativity and talent. Each year, as part of this special event, students from local primary schools in Years 4-6 are invited to enter an art competition, with prizes announced on the night.
Greenhills Primary School has a proud tradition of participating in this event, and 2025 was no exception. We had many talented students submit their artwork, and we were thrilled to have seven of the twenty finalist positions held by Greenhills students!
Congratulations to Ruby R, Lana, Josie, Yat, Sarina, Maddie L, and Ya-Qing on this fantastic achievement.
While we didn’t take home any placed awards this year, I couldn’t be prouder of our Greenhills artists- not only for the incredible quality of the work displayed, but for the courage and creativity it takes to put your art out into the world in the first place.
To everyone who entered the competition- congratulations! To our seven finalists- congratulations! And to all our Greenhills artists who continue to create, explore, and express themselves- congratulations!

The Inclusion Parade last week was a wonderful success, and it was fantastic to see the many creative ways students chose to represent themselves. Our Inclusion Action Team worked incredibly hard to make the day meaningful and to prepare mini-lessons that helped everyone learn more about what inclusion truly means.
A HUGE congratulations and thank you to Everliegh (6RM), Daniel (6RM), Sebastion (5RC), Fletcher (5RC), Jessica (6RM), Hannah (6RM), and Vihaan (6LB).
Your hard work, leadership, and professionalism while teaching each class was outstanding. Well done!
We look forward to an even bigger and better parade next year.
Thank you,
