It is great to be back at Greenhills following two weeks of long service leave. I had an awesome trip overseas to Sri Lanka & the Maldives and have lots of experiences to remember for a long time to come. There were so many highlights including the great crew we toured with, climbing Sigiriya Rock, bowling in the nets at Gaul to a Sri Lankan player who had just been selected into their A side and of course everything about the Maldives including over water accommodation!

Thank you to Janine Hough and Brad Ryan for stepping up into the Acting Principal role when I was away and to our whole staff team for their support and commitment over what has been a very demanding and challenging period.

Over the past two weeks there have also been lots of fun and engagement for our students through a variety of camps, cultural days to the city, excursions and incursions.

These extra-curricular activities play an important role in helping students learn beyond the classroom. They encourage teamwork, independence, and confidence while giving students the chance to explore new interests and real-world connections.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our staff team for organising all of these events. This requires significant extra time, especially around all of the administration requirements including risk assessments etc.

A special shout out to all of our parent and carer helpers. There are strict ratios when schools travel to camps and excursions and we really appreciate all those helpers who have given up their time to assist our staff and students.

THANK YOU AFTERNOON TEA

We warmly invite all our wonderful parents and carers to join us for a special Afternoon Tea in appreciation of your support throughout the year.

Your time, energy, and care make such a difference — from helping in classrooms and on excursions to supporting school events and activities. This is our chance to say a heartfelt thank you!

3pm – 4pm on Tuesday 2nd December in the Library.

Come along to enjoy some delicious treats, great company, and a moment to relax and celebrate the wonderful contributions you’ve made to our school community.

We hope to see you there!

TERM 4 - MEET WITH THE PRINCIPAL TEAM

Don’t forget that tonight at 7.30pm we will host our Term 4 Mid-Term Meet with the Principal Team. The session will be held via Webex.

This session is usually very well attended as we share information about the structure of our school for 2026 including the number of classes and number of students in each class. I will also be confirming the number of composite classes that we will be part of our school structure.

HOME SCHOOL COMMUNICATIONS UPDATE

Just a reminder that during this week, all families will receive a year level newsletter update from their child’s classroom teacher. This is part of our home school communications plan which includes two or three emails per term along with our Continuous Reporting, Greenhills Official Facebook page, Two Minute Tuesdays and other regular contact. Our aim is to ensure that the information you need to know is communicated in a timely and effective way.
