Swimming

Our swimming program is off to a fantastic start this year, especially with the new facilities in Sale providing such an excellent environment for our students. It was wonderful to see many of the children grow in confidence throughout the session. Some who were initially nervous were able to ‘swim away’ by the end of the lesson, showing just how much progress can happen in a short time when students feel comfortable and supported.

The program also ran more smoothly thanks to the students’ quick transitions in and out of the pool and efficient changing times. This helped us make the most of every lesson and ensured that each group had plenty of time in the water to develop their skills.

We were fortunate to have an extra set of hands this week with our new Education Support staff member, Ebony. Some students may have recognised her as Mr. Brock’s wife, and she was a wonderful help in supporting both staff and students throughout the day.

We’re really looking forward to seeing the children continue to build their confidence and skills in the pool next week. It’s always rewarding to watch their progress as they develop not just their swimming ability, but also their courage and persistence.

Art in Residence

We had a fantastic visit from artist Craig and his assistant Gemma this week! They showed the students how to use natural materials in their art, even making ink from bark by soaking it in water. Everyone had fun exploring animal habitats and pollinators, then making little clay homes for the animals. The students decorated them beautifully with sticks, bristles, flowers, and gumnuts, they looked amazing!

We’re looking forward to the next three visits from Craig and Gemma as the students continue to build their art portfolios and get creative with nature.

School-wide reward system survey

During our recent School Values session, students took part in a survey about rewards and how we can celebrate positive behaviour as part of our new Behaviour Matrix being introduced next year.

It was great to hear so many thoughtful ideas about what motivates students and how we can make our rewards fair and fun for everyone. The feedback will help us shape a system that truly reflects our school values and encourages everyone to do their best! If you would like to see the questions that were asked in the survey, click the link below!

Concert Ideas

With the concert fast approaching, we are currently organising different 'acts' amongst the students. This year is really going to be an interesting one... I don't want to give too much away but be prepared for a breadth of interests, from fashion to fear-factor, you'll be in for a ride.
