With six weeks of the term already behind us, and only six weeks left,it’s hard to believe how quickly the year is moving. We’ve now reached that wonderful time where learning continues strong, and we also begin looking ahead to our end-of-year celebrations, reflections and special events that bring our community together.
Our Twilight Christmas Market is fast approaching, only two short weeks to go! Join us on Friday 28th November for a wonderful evening of stalls, food, music and community fun.
Please invite your family, friends and neighbours. The more the merrier! Our amazing Parents and Friends group have been working incredibly hard behind the scenes to make this event special. One of the best ways we can support their efforts is by helping to spread the word and encouraging everyone to come along.
It’s going to be a beautiful night celebrating our school and community. We can’t wait to see you there! 🎄✨
It was wonderful to see our swimming program back in action on Thursday. Swimming isn’t just a fun activity, it is a vital life-saving skill and an important part of our school curriculum. This week, we have been talking with students about the important role they play during lessons.
Our swimming instructors each have a big responsibility. They are there to teach skills, support progress, assess competence and guide students through the program. But above all, their most important job is to keep every child safe.
To help them do this, our students have a job too. Their role is to listen carefully, follow instructions the first time, use respectful manners and communicate with Cowwarr staff if they are feeling unsure or need help. These behaviours keep everyone safe and allow our instructors to do their job well.
As part of our commitment to safety, Cowwarr staff also join students in the water to support learning, monitor wellbeing and ensure a calm, positive and respectful environment for everyone. We are proud of the effort and focus students have shown so far and we will continue reinforcing these expectations so that all children can participate confidently and safely.
What a fantastic day we had with our Artist in Residence, Craig! Students were completely absorbed in exploring painting with nature, experimenting with natural materials, textures and outdoor inspiration. It was a calm, creative experience that allowed our learners to think differently about art and express themselves in new ways.
A big thank you to Mrs Anderson for her fabulous work in securing this opportunity for our school through her successful application. Experiences like these enrich our curriculum and give our students the chance to discover talents and interests they may not have known they had.
Our staff are currently busy preparing end-of-year reports, taking the time to reflect deeply on each student’s learning, growth and achievements throughout 2025. This process is thoughtful and detailed, ensuring we capture the whole picture of each child, academically, socially and personally.
A reminder that we have a Student-Free Day on Monday 1st December, which gives our teachers the dedicated time they need to finalise reports and continue planning for the year ahead.
As we move closer to the end of the year, we are already busy planning for 2026. This includes reviewing our school goals, finalising classroom structures and continuing to look at how we can strengthen teaching and learning across Cowwarr Primary School.
A key focus for our staff is ongoing professional development. Next year, we will be working more deeply with the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model (VTLM) 2.0, which outlines best practice in how students learn and the most effective ways teachers can deliver instruction. This work helps us build consistency, clarity and high-quality learning experiences across the school.
We are excited about the year ahead and look forward to continuing to grow, refine and strengthen our practice to give every Cowwarr student the very best.
Thank you for your continued support, teamwork and community spirit. Go TEAM! Remember Together Everyone Achieves More.
