A note from Cheryl

Hello to the wonderful families and staff of Uraidla Primary School

My name is Cheryl Pollard and I am thrilled to join the wonderful team at Uraidla Primary School as your new Pastoral Care Worker.

I am here to extend my support to each and every member of our school family.

With many years of experience in counselling, family support, and working closely with younger children, I am excited to bring my skills to support our school as needed. You can find me here every Monday and Friday, ready to lend a listening ear and a helping hand.

At the heart of my passion lies a dedication to nurturing the well-being of not just the children, but also the invaluable parents and dedicated staff members who make our school community thrive.

Whether you're a parent seeking guidance, a child in need of a friendly chat, or a staff member seeking support, know that I am here for you.

Looking forward to embarking on this journey of care and support with all of you. If you happen to see me around, please feel free to come and say hello.

Warm regards,

Cheryl Pollard Pastoral Care Worker

Congratulations Eloise and Innes!

The Sapsasa girls Australian Football State Carnival took place on Mon 21 - Wed 23 October at Barratt Reserve, West Beach. Eloise Sachse represented Uraidla Primary as part of the Hills District team. The team showed phenomenal skills and team work, winning 8 out of 9 games (with one draw) and took out first place in their division!  The girls were lucky to have the Vice Captain of the Sturt Women's team join them as assistant coach. They are celebrating tonight by attending the Crows AFLW game as a team. A fantastic experience, well done Eloise and team!

Congratulations also to Innes Staniford who made the district cricket team to play later this year. We look forward to hearing about Innes' experience.

We have added a plain blue beanie to our school uniform range. Beanies will be $12 each and available through flexi schools over the next few weeks. We are currently taking pre orders through the front office so no one misses out!

Uraidla Show Candle Dipping Stall

We are very much looking forward to being involved once again in the Uraidla Show for 2024.

We would love all the families at Uraidla Primary School to get involved. Whether it would be entering in one (or many!) of the categories, supporting your child in a performance, helping on the day or simply attending and enjoying our community.

As a parent group we will be hosting the popular candle-dipping stall to create some beautiful gifts. This year we are fundraising towards continued work on our school master plan, as well as funding special events, activities or speakers at school to enrich our children’s learning.

The Parents and Friends Committee would like to ask families to help for an hour on the day . Any help would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to pair up with another parent and spend the hour together. Please sign up via the link below.

End of Year Performance

We are almost at that time of the year again for our much-loved 'End of Year Performance'. This year we will have two performances on Tuesday 10th December, a matinee at 11am and an evening performance at 6pm.

Due to our growing numbers, this year we need to restrict the attendance at the evening performance for everyone's comfort and safety.  Each family will be given the opportunity to select 2 tickets to the evening performance only, with the exception of famililes of Year 6 students who will be allocated 4 tickets per family. Following the performance the Uraidla Footie Club will be catering a BBQ- details to follow.

In the coming weeks a link will be sent out via Seesaw and in the newsletter for families to book their night tickets.

We encourage all those that would still like to see the performance but are unable to be one of the two ticket holders per family to attend the matinee performance. No tickets will be required for the matinee; all are welcome.

It's shaping up to be another fantastic performance!

Parents and Friends

The Parents and Friends would like to welcome any new members to join our ranks! We meet Tuesday evenings at 7pm twice a term. Our next meeting is at the Primary School on 27 October at 7pm.  Come along and have fun while supporting your kids! 🙂

Here is some general information about Parents and Friends:

We are a group of parents and friends of the school, who share the vision of an inclusive and welcoming school community. We focus on activities that raise funds for the school for equipment and experiences and provide opportunities to bring everyone together and feel part of our community. Best of all we have a lot of fun and laughs while doing it.

We meet twice a term, and everyone volunteers to run or support different activities throughout the year. You can join the committee, or we welcome volunteers for events and activities.

P&F activities you can volunteer to help out with include:

  • Willow Café ( run after assemblies, hot drinks and snacks)
  • Sausage sizzles for Acquaintance night/ end of year concert
  • Second hand uniform sales
  • Kytons Bakery sale
  • School Disco
  • Large events like the Colour Run/Art Show

To join, come along to a meeting (dates in the yearly planner) or email uraidlapandf@gmail.com to express your interest in helping out with events.

Uniform Ordering

Did you know our school uniforms can now be ordered through Flexi Schools? We have the whole range available for you to order through the Flexi schools app. Place your order online and we will get the order packaged and delivered to your child.

Alternatively, please come into the front office on a Monday or Friday for a viewing/fitting or to purchase.

Enrolment in Reception

If you have a child turning 5 in the next 12 months, they should have already enrolled to start school.  Children either start school at the start of the year or in July, depending on their age.

Our school has now reached capacity, which means that we give priority enrolment to children in our catchment area. Please note that younger siblings of existing students are guaranteed enrolment.

If you are speaking to other families about enrolling in school, they can find their local school through the Find My School website: Find a school zone or preschool catchment area (education.sa.gov.au)

Enrolments for the start of 2025 should already be finalised, whether for the start of the year or mid 2025, for our staff planning.

Please contact the front office for a registration of interest form today!
