Governing Council
Have you ever thought about getting more involved in the school's decision-making? Why not join the Governing Council?
All parents/carers who have children currently enrolled at our school in 2025 are eligible to nominate for election as a councillor.
No parent/caregiver is eligible if they are:
- declared bankrupt or has applied 'for the benefit of a law for the relief of insolvent debtors'
- convicted of any offence prescribed by administrative instruction
Permanent employees of the Department for Education may stand for election but:
- must not compromise the majority of councillors
- are ineligible to hold the position of Chairperson
All school volunteers including members of Governing Council undertake a Criminal History Check through The Department. The school facilitates and pays for this process.
If you are elected, you will have the opportunity, if you wish to, be a member of a subcommittee. It will be completely your decision. Please complete the nomination link if you wish to be a member of our 2025 Governing Council.

Specialists | PE Reception - Year 2: Fundamental Movement Skills (F.M.S.) Throughout term 4, the students in rooms 6, 7 and 8 will have a strong focus on Fundamental Movement Skills via a range of small games, activities and movement stations. These include:
Years 3 - Year 6: This term, the focus sports are Golf (first half) and Cricket (second half). We will be starting off with Putting - How to hold and use the putter. We will then move off into different putting drills and activities before students play an 18-hole putting game with a partner. We will then move off into Irons and Drivers; how to hold and use these, and some drills/activities around using irons and drivers.
Halfway through the term (week 5), we will be doing our second round of the “fitness testing” - which is the beep test and the grip strength test. The students all did this in term 1 as a ‘baseline’, they will then do it again in week 5 and compare their results.
In the second half of the term, we will be moving onto cricket. This will include Bowling, Batting, Fielding and Throwing. Students will be participating in a range of drills/activities for each of those cricket aspects before moving into mini-games and finally a larger game of cricket.

Japanese Reception to Year 2 students have been enjoying a story about two fictional children, Ben and Holly, who get to travel from Australia through Japan. Through this story students are invited to explore Japanese culture and learn greetings and other polite expressions. Ben and Holly will be 'sending' a package back from Japan containing things that are Japanese. This week the children have enjoyed a touch and feel game with a Kimono and Yukata (traditional Japanese clothing). We have also finished some bowing puppets that will brought home this week. Perhaps your child can use these puppets to teach you some Japanese greetings.
The Year 2s and 3s in Room 9 have just started their unit of learning of the extremely popular Japanese cartoon, Pokemon. Over the next few weeks students will be designing their own Pokemon card, with the Pokemon's name, height, weight and hobbies written on the card.
Students in Year 4,5 and 6 have been enjoying using their own creativity to produce a short story. They are using the sentence structure we have learnt through looking at the Japanese version of Eric Carle's The Very Hungry Catepillar. I cannot wait to see what the final products will be!
