Year 1 Community

What an amazing term we have had in Year 1!

Firstly, we had a brilliant incursion, getting up close and personal with many of Australia's most interesting animals!

We have spent weeks learning about living things (animals, plants and fungi)!

The trip to the Melbourne Zoo was a highlight of the year... not just for the students but the teachers too. We all agreed it was one of the best excursions that we have ever been on!

A big thank you to the parents helpers who dedicated their own time to help out on the excursion too.

The students have developed a much deeper undstanding of the living world around them and this knowledge will culminate with a research poster that they will present to their class at the end of term!

Other highlights of the term included Literacy and Numeracy Dress-Up Day, Hairy Harrys (attempted at least), R U OK Day, Potato Olympics and the multitude of mathetical and literary concepts introduced.

Next term we will be looking at FORCES! How things in the world around us move. We will investigate pushes, pulls, gravity, friction even inertia! Interesting stuff to come!
