Meet The Staff

Education Support Team

Julie Rowson

I have been at Mitcham for 17 years and have worked across all year levels. I love building positive relationships with students and providing support for them academically, socially and emotionally. My hobbies include camping outdoors, reading and spending time with my family and dogs!

Katrina Ballard

I have been fortunate to have been at Mitcham for 27 years and have enjoyed working across all year levels, also witnessing past students’ children attend MPS.  I believe all children are worthy and I strive to make them feel valued, cared for and achieve their best.  I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and having three Grandchildren (and one on the way) is an added joy.

Bella Norman

I am really enjoying working at Mitcham as an education support. I am currently in my last year, studying a bachelor of education. In my spare time I love going on walks with my dog, spending time with my family and friends and reading.

Katrina McGrath - Literacy Intervention

I  am privileged to have been at Mitcham for 7 years and counting. I believe that all children should have the same opportunities that’s why I am in education support. I am also lucky to be running a program called Colourful Semantics. I am a Mum of two boys and two girls ranging from 16 to 25 years. I also have a cute husband and a good looking cat called Shadow.

Patricia Arblaster - MiniLit/MacLit Literacy Intervention

Trisha here. I have been at Mitcham for so long I am part of the furniture. I am passionate about imparting the lifetime gift of reading to children and being part of their journey. I love ‘coming home’ to MPS each morning. We are empty nesters with two adult sons, one lives in the UK-sad mum, one just got engaged - happy mum!  I love travel, reading (of course!), walking, laughing a lot and keeping fit. Go Storm!

Catherine Primerano

I’m lucky enough to have been a member of the MPS Community for about 7 years! How time has flown!

My university years were spent studying professional and creative writing, where I found myself fascinated with the world of children’s literature; so it’s quite fitting that our MPS Library is where you will find me. I have a passion for reading and sharing stories, believing that a love of reading leads to a lifelong ability to learn and grow with boundless opportunities to explore.

I flick between pastimes and hobbies like pages of a book, but adore time both snuggled up on the couch at home, and out in the sunshine with my family, friends, and pair of pesky pugs.
