Principal Report
Dear Families,
We are approaching the time of year where our thoughts begin to drift to how we plan for a successful 2025. Our prep enrolments are complete, and our first transition session was today. Students and teachers move on (all for the right reasons we hope!) and new students fill their spots.
Please can I ask you to share with us if you are moving to another school next year. This will help other families who may wish to take up a spot here at Rolling Hills PS.
Class placements can be tricky. We know the students in our class settings, and we place them based on our view of how they will best learn. Sometimes you have your own requests. Recently we asked you to share with us via the office any information you wish for us to have. We offered you the chance to nominate up to three students you think your child works well with. This offer closes today. Please share with us your thoughts.
If you wish to read the policy we have created, please find a copy here:
Clothing and Sun Smart
The sun has got his hat on, and so have we!
Please ensure your child has a hat. No hat means no play. PE or sports outside will now have hats. It is a good idea to add a little sunscreen each day before school and educate your child on where to find extra sunscreen in the school, main office and the Boorai. We are not allowed to apply sunscreen due to child safety standards.
Looking ahead you may be thinking about uniform now, rather than at Christmas. Beleza have their onsite shop open every second Friday.
Here are a few policies that may be a useful read.

Laptops
Our students in grade 2 will receive their laptops next week, as well as guidance through the term on how to be safe online.
As a school we will have a bigger 'Cybersafe Awareness' month next year. There will be a parent night as well.
It would be a great time to check in with your students in grade 3-6 and have a chat about what apps they should and should not be using, as well as how they choose to act online. We cover this regauarly in school, but find most incidents are happening at home.
Camps
Camps have changed a little in 2025. Emily has been canvassing parents, staff and our students for views on how we build a varied and value driven camp program for the school. Next year our grade 1 and 2 students will still have a fun night (G1) and a sleepover (G2). The students in grades 34 and 56 will still have camp like activities at the end of the year, just without the sleepover. Early in 2025 we will be sharing ideas and plans for this with you.
Out big-ticket item is the school production next year at the George Wood Theatre which has reopened and we have booked for June 2025.
Kind Regards,
Craig Bradley
