Sport Term 3

Western Metro Badminton

On Tuesday the 30th of July, our senior badminton teams represented Homestead at the Western Metro Badminton tournament. Both our male and female teams played exceptionally well on the day and made it to the semi-finals. They played extremely hard on the day and represented Homestead in amazing fashion. We are very proud of their efforts

Homestead’s Basketball and Netball League.

This term the House Leaders and Heads of House have ran our annual Basketball and Netball League. Each house had their own team for both leagues which ran on a fortnightly rotation.

Competition was fierce in the Basketball world. For the first time in Homestead history we have had to run a semi-final between Harcourt and Darwin to determine who would play Bunjil in the final. Darwin came out in front in the end, and managed to win the Grand Final A huge congratulations to Darwin.

In the Netball league we saw mixed teams compete for the gold. It was Darwin and Bunjil in the end who went head-to-head in the grand final. Also a big congratulations to Darwin for winning the Netball League.

A massive congratulations to all students who participated in the Basketball and Netball League. The House Leaders are looking to hear your feedback and what you would like to see in the future.

Strength Lab

Term 3 was another big term for the Strength Lab. There has been an increase in numbers to every session and the consistency is paying off. We have seen a great increase in students’ progress towards their goals and cannot wait to see what term 4 brings.

Hobsons Bay Division Athletics

On Wednesday the 4th of September, our students participated in the Hobsons Bay Division Athletics, which was held at Newport Athletics Track. Our students did so well on the day, bringing home an abundance of first, second and third place ribbons. Multiple students assisted staff members on the day, which ensured the day ran smoothly. On behalf of Homestead, thank you for your amazing behaviour and willingness to help others on the day. You all embodied what it meant to be a Homesteader and we are so proud of you. On this day, of all of the schools in teh network, Homestead Senior was outright second
