Mrs Amy Phillips

4/5/6: Peter Pan

We’re almost ready to perform, and the excitement is building! Our set is nearly complete, and it’s looking fantastic. A huge thank you to our incredible prop artist, Ange Croll, for the countless hours you’ve dedicated. We’re sure the audience will be amazed by your work! We’re grateful to Mr. Phillips for lending us your muscles to move and set up the set, and your building skills in creating our pirate ship. Thank you also to the Barraba Men's Shed for building the black boxes for our 'flying' actors.

Seeing the set come together has truly elevated the students' performances—they’re better than ever! We can’t wait to see everything in action during our full dress rehearsal next Tuesday, and, of course, the actual performances on Wednesday and Thursday.

Performance Schedule: On both Wednesday and Thursday, we will have a matinee and an evening performance.

Matinee Performances: Students should attend school as usual on these days. We will walk them to and from the Playhouse for both matinee performances. Please ensure your child(ren) brings a water bottle and enough food for the day, as rehearsals have shown that acting and dancing can build up quite an appetite! (Please, no lollies.)

Evening Performances: Please drop your child(ren) off at the Playhouse between 5:30 and 6:00 p.m. (No later, as we want to avoid unnecessary worry.) If you are not attending the evening performance, you may drop them off and leave, as staff will be there to supervise. Make sure your child(ren) has eaten dinner before arriving. They may bring a healthy snack and a water bottle for later (again, no lollies, please).

Pick-up time for the evening shows will be around 8:45 p.m. allowing time for costume changes and resetting for the next performance.

Stage 3 Maths

With the play rehearsals happening most days, we have done our best to fit a couple of maths lessons in between dancing and acting!

This is our final week for this term looking at division and it has been interesting diving into the world of ratios. We are still learning about the important step of proving our working out which can be a wonderful insight into the workings of the brain!

You can help your child consolidate this concept by looking for real-world examples where ratios and division are used. We discussed how many bulls a paddock of 16 cows would need compared to a mob of 60. This was a really fun way of thinking about ratios in action!
