HPE

Mr Dave Moran - Head of Department HPE

Term 3 Week 10

We have had a full fortnight for the HPE Department with several activities occurring during this period, such as Mountain Biking, Met Finals and FUTSAL. Here is quick roundup of the main events that our students have participated in this fortnight.

Mountain Biking

On 29 August we had our final mountain biking event for the year at Castle Hill, Ipswich. We would like to congratulate the 22 riders who participated during this day, improving their skills, placements, and illustrating our school values. In particular we would like to recognise the participating students on their engagement over this past season to create a truly enjoyable experience for all involved.

Special mention and congratulations to Lauren G for making it onto the Podium on the final round of competition. Well done!

We are looking forward to offering these opportunities to the school community again in 2025. If you are interested in joining in, come and have a chat with Ms McCall or the HPE staff.

Futsal

Our students are currently competing in the Under 13 Girls and Under 14 Boys and Girls QSF Cup.

They had strong results on the first day of competition. The 13 girls had 3 wins; 5-0, 12-1 & 7-5

As did our boys; 10-4, 6-3, 5-1.

Let’s hope the winning streak continues into the second day of play!

News just in

The girls team won the final at the Queensland Schools FUTSAL and were crowned the winners of the Champions Cup. They beat Islamic College Brisbane in a tight 2-2 draw. Which led to a penalty shoot out, this went to sudden death and Sarah M saving a monumental goal to win the championship for the girls.

The boys teams lost in the Semi-final to St. Laurence’s College and ended up finishing in 4th place. Well done to both teams.

With continued commitment, participation, and representation of our school values both teams represented us and themselves extremely well. What a great way to finish off the term for the HPE Department.
