Basketball

A very successful weekend of Basketball for SPC over the weekend as we had our final trial fixtures against Trinity Grammar and Barker College. There were many large scores going our way and all teams looked ready and raring to go for the ISA season. As we prepare for Round 1 this Saturday, please remember the following:

  • All teams must supply scorers for home games - one to complete the scoresheet and one to control the scoreboard.

  • All players must wear their full Basketball uniform including the College Basketball shorts and white socks - only the First V wear black socks.

Baseball

While the results have not gone our way this season, the steps in the right direction continue to be taken by both the First IX and U14 teams alike. The First IX participated in a very high-scoring and hugely entertaining game as they took on the very formidable opposition of Thornleigh. Some very impressive work from Heath Patterson at the mound, some very strong hitting from Nino Di Girolamo at the plate as well as huge efforts from other members of the squad, including stealing a massive 19 bases throughout the game. Although we did not come away with the win this time, Coach Mr O’Connor and MIC Mrs Warsop are very excited for what is to come this season. The U14s are bringing similar excitement and commitment, coming heartbreakingly close to their first win of the season but in the end losing by only three runs. Best of luck to all of our Baseballers for Round 4!

Cricket

The ISA season started early for the Second XI team because their match against St Gregory’s College, Campbelltown was rescheduled. The game was originally set for the weekend when St Gregory’s has their 'boarder-free weekend.’ They started the season with a huge 203 to 64 victory. Special mentions: William Malone for scoring 61 runs, Liam Garrett doing well with both bat and ball scoring 44 runs and taking three wickets and a very solid 28 runs coming from Luke Maronese. Head coach Mr Bleasel and MIC Mr Dunne are very happy with the start to the season!

There were some very close losses in the Thunder League, none closer than the 16 Black boys who lost 96 to 100, with a special mention to the 13 Black Team who were successful over the Epping Bulls. Thank you to all the players, coaches, families and Mr Dunne for all tyour hard work to get the cricket season going at SPC!

Golf

It is fantastic to have Golf back at SPC for the 2025/2026 season! The results did not go our way against a very formidable Shore team; but there was some very good Golf played and fantastic signs of things to come.
