What a big fortnight at TPS!

Mr Hogan

Welcome to Term 4. This term has started with a bang and is jam packed full of amazing opportunities for our students. We have sporting events, excursions, camps, end of year activities and Pupil Free Days all planned, so please keep an eye on the key dates.

Communication

Compass is our major form of communication across the school. This is used to communicate excursions, daily information and will now be where classroom teachers will communicate what is happening within their classroom. It is really important that all families have access to Compass so that they receive up to date information.

Facebook will be a celebration of everything that is happening across the school. It will be updated almost every day to highlight the great things that are happening. Community News items will also be shared here, such as the Tonny Times, local events and any upcoming registrations.

Our Newsletter is updated fortnightly, and will keep you up to date with Key Dates, important information from myself and our award winners. Any news from the office and the Community will also be here. It is now more condensed, so please take the time to have a read. This is posted to Compass, Facebook and emailed to families.

You can connect with your child's learning currently through Seesaw. Seesaw is an IT tool, that allows families to see, and comment on, work that is happening in the classroom.

We are constantly looking at ways we can strengthen our communcation across the school, so any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Regional Athletics

A very large team made their way to Bendigo on Monday to participate in the Regional Athletics. Again, our students performed extremely well, with all students being excellent representatives of our school.

We congratulate Hanna H, who has qualified for the State Athletics in Hurdles and to Ella F, who has qualified in both Long and Triple Jump.

The state athletics is held in the first week of November.

Lawn Bowls

Our Lawn Bowls team is also on their way to Melbourne for the state titles. They competed on Wednesday at the Moama Bowling Club and played superbly throughout.

It was not only a great achievement from our school, but also the entire Tongala Community, as we played St Patricks in the final, meaning the 2 Tongala schools are the best lawn bowls teams in the Loddon Mallee region.

A big thank you to Mr Tinning, Barry Cuttriss and Bernie Tinning for supporting our team. The final is in Sunbury on Wednesday, 29th October.

Holiday works

We had lots of building works happening over the Term 3 holiday.

Our new play equipment - 9 Square in the Air, was installed and getting lots of use.

We had some new walls installed inside the main building to close in some rooms a bit further. New cooling and heating systems were installed in the Admin area ahead of summer, which is great timing.

Our Hands on Learning Crew are going to re-box our sandpit area and have already pulled out the existing logs.

Jayde has done a great job keeping our grounds vibrant and always looking great. Thank you also to Julian Brennan for scraping our 9 square area and spraying the oval for weeds.

School Fete

The School Fete is only 3 weeks away, and it is shaping to be an incredible evening. We have some wonderful activities organised, excellent food and fantastic music on the night.

The Fete is our major fundraiser and we ask all families to support this evening by assisting on your child's classroom stall, donating prizes for their activity and coming along to have a good night.

We have a page dedicated to the Fete in this newsletter.

GV Water is running a great challenge with fantastic prizes.
