Netball

Saturday morning netball starts again on 18 October.  The draw for the season is attached.

VNA/HNA fees are now payable through the Netball Connect app.

Could parents of players please ensure that this is paid by the start of next week (definitely before the first game).  VNA is paid only once in a calendar year; the cost will be deducted at the checkout if you have already paid it and registered in another competition at any time in 2025.

Parents also need to complete the online consent form. Both these tasks can be done at the following website:

2. Click on the link to complete online consent forms

The season is only 6 weeks long, with no game on the weekend of the Melbourne Cup.  We have almost the bare minimum of players this season.  If a player is going to be away, it is ESSENTIAL that they find a fill-in (can be from a younger team).  If there is anyone not already in a team who would love to join, please have them contact me.

Thanks again to our wonderful volunteers who make this all possible – the umpires, managers and coaches!

Rowing Returns for Term Four!

Term Four marks the return of rowing season, and what a fantastic start it has been. It was wonderful to see so many returning rowers back on the water this week — along with some enthusiastic new faces joining the program for the first time. Even with our Year 7s away on camp, the energy and excitement around the shed has been contagious.

A huge thank you to our dedicated coaching team for their hard work over the off-season — cleaning, rigging, and preparing the boats so everything was ready for our crews to launch straight into the new season.

At this week’s Parent and Rowing Information Session, a few key updates were shared:

  • An Operoo form will be sent to all interested families to confirm each rower’s commitment for the season.
  • We will be trialing a new parent communication platform, Toddle. Families will receive an email when this is ready to launch (date TBC). Until then, all updates will continue via our usual channels - WhatsApp and newsletter.
  • As outlined in the Rowing Handbook, training sessions remain on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school, and Saturdays (Senior crews from 7.00 am, Juniors from 8.30 am, with all sessions finishing by 10.30 am).
  • We look forward to welcoming our Year 7 rowers to their first Saturday session this weekend!

Our Rowing Camp is scheduled for 22–25 January, with the venue to be confirmed shortly.  The first regatta of the season will be held in Bendigo on Saturday, 18 October, with selected crews to be notified this weekend.

It’s shaping up to be an exciting season ahead — filled with teamwork, early mornings, and plenty of fun on the water. Here’s to a great start for all our rowers, families, and coaches!

Equine Studies

Equine Studies in Action — Student-Led Freshman’s Showjumping Day

As part of their Year 8 and 9 Equine Studies program, students have taken the reins to plan, promote and deliver a real-world equestrian event — the Freshman’s Showjumping Day on Saturday 16 November.

This practical assessment combines classroom learning with hands-on experience, allowing students to demonstrate their understanding of event management, animal welfare, risk assessment, teamwork, and community engagement.

From designing promotional materials and preparing arenas to organising entries, sponsorship and catering, students have been involved in every step of the process. Their goal: to create a supportive environment where riders can build confidence and gain experience over a range of heights — from poles on the ground to 130cm — on our professional fibre-surface arena.

The day will also include a sausage sizzle, drinks and icy poles, with proceeds contributing to future Equine Studies projects. Each round is $5.00, with a maximum of three rounds per horse.

This student-led initiative showcases the applied learning focus of the College’s Equine Studies program — fostering leadership, responsibility, and communication skills through authentic, real-world opportunities.

Come along to ride, watch, and support our young event organisers as they put their learning into action!
