2025 Awards Night
On Wednesday, we celebrated the outstanding achievements, hard work, and dedication of our students across all year levels. Each award reflects countless hours of learning, persistence, and growth — and we couldn’t be prouder of their accomplishments.
A special thank you to Ms Thederan, Ms Rowe, and the Hospitality students for their exceptional catering at the pre-event function, and to our P&C Association for providing beverages throughout the pre-event. Your efforts created a warm and welcoming atmosphere and highlighted the strong sense of community that defines Balmoral.
We’d also like to acknowledge our staff, parents, and community partners for their continued support, and everyone who helped make tonight possible. Your contributions ensure that Balmoral remains a place where excellence is celebrated and every student is encouraged to shine.
Congratulations once again to all of our award recipients — we look forward to another year of success, innovation, and community spirit.
Singapore Recap: Mrs Baumgart
During the September holidays, a group of Balmoral State High School students embarked on an unforgettable STEM Tour to Singapore (17–25 September 2025). Led by Mr Zane Sloan, Mr Sam Neill and Mrs Kellie Baumgart, the tour brought classroom learning to life through hands-on experiences in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Students explored the ArtScience Museum, Gardens by the Bay and Singapore Science Centre, discovering how creativity and innovation shape one of the world’s most advanced cities. Visits to NEWater, Marina Barrage, Plastify and Koh Fah Technology Farm highlighted Singapore’s sustainable solutions to environmental challenges, while cultural stops at Little India, the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre, and the Peranakan Museum deepened their appreciation of diversity and community.
There was plenty of fun too — from the thrills of Universal Studios and Legoland Malaysia to the magic of the Night Safari.
A special thank-you goes to our wonderful tour guide Kim, who supported the group throughout most of the trip, and Paul, who joined us for our final day. Their knowledge, kindness and enthusiasm helped make the experience truly memorable.
Students returned home grateful, inspired, and proud to have represented Balmoral with the values of agency, belonging and innovation at the heart of every moment.
Australian Country Choice Grant
This week, our school was presented with a $250 grant from Australian Country Choice.
The funds will go towards supporting our Netball Academy, helping to purchase new balls and bibs for training and competitions.
Big thank you goes to P&C President Raelene James pictured here with Australian Country Choice!
Teachers v Students: Futsal
Today’s lunchtime futsal match saw the students take on the teachers in a fast-paced, high-energy battle!
After an intense match, the final score was Teachers 1-2 Students, which means it's a first win for the students in the 2025 series! Teachers are only just ahead in the series 2-1, following Touch Football and Basketball.
