Principal's Message

Loving God,

Bless our school community as we build for the future.

May these new spaces be filled with learning, laughter, and faith.

Guide all who work to make this vision a reality,

and help us follow St Andrew’s example of hope and service.

Amen.

New Building Works – Shaping the Future of St Andrew’s

We are delighted to share an update on our new building works, an exciting project that will enhance the learning and community spaces at St Andrew’s.

Over recent months, we have worked closely with WOWOWA Architects Scott and Yukari to design spaces that reflect our school’s values, identity, and vision for the future. This process has included consultation across our community. Our Staff, School Captains and the Year 3–6 Student Voice Team shared thoughtful ideas on what helps them learn and feel connected at school. We also invited the School Advisory Council and Parents and Friends to contribute their insights and feedback, ensuring the design truly reflects our shared hopes for St Andrew’s.

The resulting design celebrates creativity, functionality, and our connection to St Andrew the Fisherman. Key features that our community liked included a new school entrance (away from the carpark), multi-use library and learning hub, sensory space, story pods, a presentation platform for group presentation, and new toilet facilities. The flexible design will cater for a range of learning styles and community gatherings, with capacity for around 100 people for medium-sized events as well as library lessons for the students.

The consultation groups also challenged the architects to think carefully about practical details — such as classroom colour choices, bike rack locations, a water tap, and the potential for lighting the school cross. These thoughtful suggestions show the depth of care and creativity in our community.

Further work is still underway on the landscape design, which will integrate beautifully with the new building, offering outdoor spaces for reflection, connection, and play.

This project is a true reflection of collaboration — a design shaped by many voices, inspired by our story, and created for our students’ future. A few of the concerpt photos are shown below.
