Grandparents’ Day in Grade 5/6

Last Wednesday, our classroom was filled with smiles, stories, and laughter as we welcomed our grandparents for a special morning together.

The students were so proud to share their learning and show their grandparents around the classroom. Together, they worked on fun activities, looked through old photos, and even compared what school was like “back in the day.”

It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to connect across generations and celebrate the important role grandparents play in our lives. A big thank you to all the grandparents who came along and made the day so memorable!

Graduation Dance Preparations Begin!

With only seven weeks left of the school year, excitement is building as our Grade 6 students begin rehearsing their Graduation Dance! The students are eager to learn the moves and are already showing great enthusiasm and teamwork on the dance floor.

A huge thank you to Caz Azzopardi for once again choreographing this year’s dance — we’re so grateful for her creativity, energy, and dedication in helping make this event so special. We can’t wait to see the final performance!

Pink Day for Breast Cancer Awareness

Last Friday, our school was a sea of pink as students and teachers dressed up to support Breast Cancer Awareness Day. From bright pink shirts to hats, ribbons, and socks, everyone joined in to show their support for an important cause. The day was filled with colour, smiles, and conversations about kindness, empathy, and helping others in need. Thank you to all the students for their involvement.

SunSmart

Andersons Creek Primary is proud to be a SunSmart School, committed to protecting our students from harmful UV radiation. As we enjoy the warmer weather and outdoor activities, it's crucial to remember our SunSmart policies to ensure everyone's safety.

Our policy focuses on two essential steps for sun protection during peak UV times:

Hats are a Must!

All students are required to wear a broad-brimmed hat or a bucket style hat whenever they are outdoors between September and the end of April (or whenever the UV index reaches 3 or above).

Caps are not considered adequate sun protection as they do not cover the neck or ears.

Please ensure your child's hat is clearly named.

Slip, Slop, Slap: Sunscreen Application

  • Students are encouraged to apply SPF30 or higher broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen before coming to school.
  • We also encourage students to bring their own small, clearly labelled tube of sunscreen for re-application throughout the day, particularly before lunch and outdoor play.
