Principal's Report

The past two weeks have been filled with learning, community connection, and plenty of fun — a true reflection of what makes ACPS such a special place.
Last week, we were fortunate to have our local CFA Captain - Will Hodgson visit us at Assembly to talk about fire safety and being prepared as we head into summer. His presentation was engaging and informative, and our students listened attentively and asked LOTS of thoughtful questions. A huge thank you to Will for taking the time to come out and visit us.
Our students in Grade 1-4 have also been taking part in the URSTRONG friendship sessions, which continue to support our focus on wellbeing and positive relationships. These sessions help students build confidence in how to manage social situations, develop empathy, and strengthen the culture of kindness and inclusion that we value so deeply at ACPS.
We were delighted to welcome so many grandparents and special friends to our Grandparents Day celebration. The morning was filled with smiles as visitors joined us for a fantastic student performances from our Prep - Grade 2 students, classroom visits, and a shared morning tea. It was a wonderful reminder of the strong community spirit that surrounds our school.
The school was awash with pink last Friday for our Wear It Pink Day, supporting the Pink Up Warrandyte campaign. Students and staff dressed in every shade of pink imaginable to raise awareness for breast cancer and to celebrate compassion and community. We were lucky to have the Warrandyte Pink Ladies visit us on the day to share their stories and highlight how local fundraising helps families in our area. Thank you to everyone who contributed — it was a powerful display of care and togetherness.
A huge thank you also goes to the families who joined us for our recent Working Bee. Your efforts in helping tidy, plant, and refresh our outdoor areas make such a difference, and we are so appreciative of the time and energy you dedicate to keeping our school looking fantastic.
The fortnight finished big with the annual Grade 2 Sleepover, which this year featured a farm animal theme — complete with a petting zoo! The afternoon included our Prep and Grade 1 students, who joined in the fun before the Grade Two's stayed on for their much-anticipated night at school. Students enjoyed spending time with the animals, playing games, sharing dinner, and watching a movie before settling in for the night. Thank you to Mrs Dibb, Ms Zanatta and Mrs Callaway for organising such a great afternoon and evening.
Wishing everyone a great long weekend.
