Principal's Report

By Carolyn Serpell

Recently students from Years 3-6 participated in the annual Mount Beauty Writer's Festival. While the winners will be announced at this weekend's Writer's Festival, we have been alerted to the fact that one of our students has earned themselves a prize! We are eagerly waiting the formal announcement, and look forward to sharing more details next week.

Congratulations to all students who

participated in Friday's Regional Athletics Division finals in Wodonga.  Around 30 students in Year 4-6 had qualified to compete at this level and Kathryn, who attended as our cluster representative, was very proud of the way in which all students represented our school and themselves, at the event.  After competing with the best from our region, tomorrow, Luella, Ferdi and Harry will  compete in the next stage of finals, in Albury.

On Tuesday, we were joined by 15 kinder students for a PMP session with Dave.  During the session, the children participated in a range of jumping, balancing, crawling, catching and throwing activities.  It was great to see students and educators engaged with the activities and keen to visit again, for another session.

Today, the Rubiks Cube Club had their first session for the term. Students interested in mastering this amazing puzzle, are invited to join Jeremy for this weekly event, at morning recess.

Throughout this week and next, we will be practising each of our emergency drills. This week we have practised our evacuation plan and next week we will be practising our lockdown and bushfire plans.

Next month, we have a number of camps including the Year 3/4 Howman's Camp, the Kids in Space Adelaide trip and the Maryborough HPV event.  All students attending these events have been provided with a medical form for each of the events they are attending, which must be completed and returned to the office by next Wednesday, 22nd October.
