Important reminders for parents and students
As we settle into the school term, we’d like to remind our school community of a few important procedures that help keep our students safe, supported, and focused on learning.
Health and wellbeing
Feeling unwell at school: If a student feels unwell during the school day, they must report to the office to be signed into the sick bay. Students should not contact parents directly. Our office staff will assess the situation, contact parents with relevant information, and advise if pickup is necessary.
Health Forms – Annual update required: To ensure we have accurate records of student health conditions—including asthma, allergies, and other medical needs—please return all health forms as soon as possible. Even if your child’s condition has changed or resolved, updated documentation is required annually.
- Slip, Slop, Slap!: With sunny days ahead, we remind all students to apply sunscreen before coming to school. Sunscreen is also available at the student counter for use throughout the day.
Communication procedures
Parent Communication During School Hours: Please refrain from contacting your child directly via mobile phone during school hours. If you need to get a message to your child, please call the school office and we will ensure your message it is delivered promptly. This helps minimise disruptions and maintain a productive learning environment.
Attendance and departure
Early Departure Protocol: If your child needs to leave school early, please notify the school via email on the day. Include your child’s full name, class, time of pickup, and the reason for leaving. This helps us manage attendance and ensure student safety.
- Absence Notification: If your child will be absent from school, please inform us as early as possible. Include the same details as for early departures: name, class, expected duration of absence, and reason.
Uniform expectations
Uniform Passes: Students are expected to wear the full and correct school uniform each day. If a student is out of uniform, a negative incident will be recorded in Sentral. Please help us maintain our standards by checking your child’s uniform before they leave home.
Getting to school by bus in 2026
Will your child be catching the bus to school next year? Applications are now open for a 2026 School Opal cards. As this is a busy time of year, we highly recommend applying before the end of this year. It’s also a good idea to check the bus timetable to help make your child’s journey to school as easy as possible.
School Opal cards
- All students catching the bus in 2026 will need a School Opal card.
- Under the School Student Transport Scheme (SSTS), eligible students can apply for free or subsidised travel between home and school.
For more information about the SSTS and how to apply for a School Opal Card, visit https://apps.transport.nsw.gov.au/ssts/#/ (best accessed from a desktop computer) click 'Apply now'.
