Drama students shine in workshops and upcoming performances
Congratulations to Lucy (Year 9) on her selection for the 2026 Pulse Alive! Drama Ensemble! Lucy will be representing Kellyville High School on the big stage, and we couldn’t be prouder of her achievement.
On Monday 10 November, our drama students were treated to two dynamic workshops led by Tom Filer from Belvoir Theatre. The Junior Drama Club and Year 9 Drama students dove into improvisation activities, with the crowd favourite being the hilariously chaotic game “Get Out of Me House,” featuring a parade of questionable accents and quick-thinking performances.
Later in the day, Year 9 students teamed up with Year 10 to explore group devising techniques, building collaborative skills and creative confidence. A huge thank you to Tom and Belvoir Theatre for bringing such an enriching experience to our school.
For those in Years 10–12 with a passion for theatre, applications are now open to become a Young Ambassador for Griffin Theatre Company or to join the Young Belvoir program. These incredible opportunities include free access to up to six mainstage shows, backstage tours, workshops, and the chance to meet other young theatre enthusiasts. Interested students should speak with Ms Dyer for more details.
And don’t forget — CAPA’s annual Cabaret Night is happening on Wednesday 3rd December! Come along to celebrate the amazing work our drama students have created this year, including live performances, short films, and design showcases. It’s a night not to be missed!
