Principal's Report

We, at Miners Rest Primary School, would like to acknowledge the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation.
We pay our respects and thank the Wadawurrung people. May we share your land. We promise to look after it, as well as the animals and people too.
Welcome back to Term Four!
This term promises to be an exciting one, filled with opportunities for teaching and learning. Our students will engage in valuable experiences both in and beyond the classroom, and we are looking forward to the many ways these opportunities will strengthen not only their learning but also connect with our school community.
2026 Classes
We are in the process of configuring classes for 2026. If you wish to share information about your child that will support successful placement in a class for 2026, please make an appointment with Kylie Nissen, via the school email address. Requests for an appointment to discuss 2026 class placement must be received no later than Friday 31st October.
Melbourne Cup Tour for Students
As part of this exciting event, our students and staff will be welcoming two very special guests to Miners Rest Primary School. Prince of Penzance, famously ridden by Michelle Payne in her historic Melbourne Cup victory and Twilight Payment. The visit will take place on Thursday 16th October and promises to be a memorable experience for our students.
