Principal's message

Welcome back, everyone
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday break and were able to spend time with family and friends, recharge, and do the things that bring you joy.
Term 4 is always a busy and exciting time at Solway PS, and we have already hit the ground running. Our Prep to Grade 2 students have started their swimming program this week, with lessons continuing into next week. Our Grade 3 and 4 students will begin their swimming program in Week 3, and parents can find all the details on Compass.
Good luck also to our students representing Solway at the Divisional Athletics next Tuesday, I know they’ll give their best effort and show great Respect, Responsibility and Resilience throughout the day.
Next Friday will be our first whole school assembly for the term, and I’m looking forward to celebrating our students’ achievements together.
Over the past week, teachers have been revisiting our school-wide expectations and reinforcing our school values. We are excited to see students being “caught doing the right thing” and earning tokens toward our next whole-school reward. To celebrate the consistent demonstration of our values in Term 3, next Friday will also be a Pyjama Day, a well-deserved and fun reward for everyone.
As the warmer weather returns, a reminder that Solway PS is a SunSmart School. Students must wear their school-approved red wide-brimmed or legionnaire hat whenever they are outside. If your child needs a new hat, these can be purchased from Spartan School World, our uniform supplier.
I’m also really pleased to share that we’ll soon be starting Breakfast Club at Solway, supported by the Department of Education and Foodbank Victoria. More information about days and times will be shared shortly, and I know this will be a fantastic addition to our school community.
It’s great to be back for what will be another wonderful term of learning, growth and connection at Solway PS.
Thank you for your continued support and lets all strive to be “our best always”.
