Next Friday 7th June is the Feast of the Sacred Heart. We will be celebrating this feast day on Tuesday 4th June with a whole school Mass at 9.15am in the hall.
The Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus reminds us of Jesus’ warm, compassionate and tender love. By staying close to Jesus, we can be warmed by the fire of his love for us. Jesus was full of compassion for those who most needed his love – the poor, the heavy-hearted, the lost, the lonely, the weak and needy. At times we, too, can feel this way; we can feel ‘poor’ in spirit, but we can take comfort in knowing that Jesus is always with us with a never-ending love, walking by our side. We can also remember in a special way the poor in our community and in our world, and pray that we will be touched by the unconditional love of Jesus who loves us with a burning heart.
Some Year 3 girls- Poppy, Emma.I, Ariyah.B and Josie have definitely taken on Jesus' message of love to take care of those in need by organising a collection of warm scarves, beanies, gloves and socks to distribute to the homeless. Way to go girls! You really are bringing the love of Jesus into our world!
It was wonderful to see the generous spirit of our amazing school community donating so many much needed items for the less fortunate in our community.
The St Vinnie's shelves in our Parish are stocked to the max with all your generous donations.
