Year 6 Camp - Lead the way

I had the opportunity to attend the 5-day Canberra camp with Year 6 and it always amazes me the quality of the camp and the things our children learn and personal skills they develop over that short period. Every day was filled with activities central to what makes Australia. Everyday involved students at the end of the day saying that the day just flew by so fast.

Our students thinking was on full display and the quality of their questioning at each of the educational settings was outstanding. Additionally, we were approached several times by guides and the public to provide feedback about the behaviour of our students. Rarely a day went by that we didn’t receive outstanding feedback.

Winter School Uniform - Thrive in a team culture

As we see colder weather more often, I would like to remind families that warmer school uniform items would not go astray. For those looking for second hand items our Parent Association have an abundance of items that they sell significantly cheaper than new items.

Splitting Classes - We are here for the students

At some stage this term we will start splitting classes rather than employing emergency teachers for the day. We have almost exhausted our term budget to cover sickness. It would not be fiscally responsible to cover excessive leave, therefore, your children might come home and say they were split into other classes for a day or more.

School Fees - We are here for the students

School fees are an essential way that we can provide various programs to your children. As principal, it is my job to respond to these funds raised to ensure the financial stability of the school. I would be very disappointed in the future if I need to remove programs if parents are not supportive through voluntary contributions. Kingswood prides itself on providing more than other schools and was also possibly a reason you selected Kingswood. We pride ourselves on the value of being a place to shine, but please rest assured it takes parent contributions for these opportunities to exist at any government school.
