Safe computer use

Our school’s vision is to empower students to use digital technologies safely and appropriately to reach their personal best and fully equip them to contribute positively to society as happy, healthy young adults.

Elsternwick Primary School understands that safe and appropriate use of digital technologies including the internet, apps, computers and tablets provide students with rich opportunities to support learning and development in a range of ways.

 

When students use their computers at school, access to social media platforms and YouTube is blocked through the statewide settings of the Department of Education who provide our Wi-Fi and internet. 

 

But when students use their computers anywhere else - and connect to any internet - the settings will no longer apply. This is true whether they are accessing internet through their education profile or a different one.
