Student Leadership

CALENDAR OF EVENTS - STUDENT LEADERSHIP INITIATIVES

Our school community is buzzing with the enthusiasm and initiative of our student leaders. Embracing their roles with commitment, they are collaborating closely with their teacher mentors to craft an engaging and impactful calendar of events. From prioritizing important dates that resonate both locally, nationally and globally to aligning them with the specific focus areas of their leadership teams, our students are demonstrating remarkable leadership skills and a commitment to making a difference.

The spectrum of our student leadership teams encompasses diverse areas such as student wellbeing, sustainability, house events, and the student representative council. Each team is dedicated to addressing pertinent issues and fostering a sense of community among their peers.

One of the highlights of our recent events was the Easter egg hunt organised by the Wellbeing Team, which received an overwhelming response from students. Similarly, our celebration of IDAHOBIT (International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism, and Transphobia) was both meaningful and educational, fostering inclusivity and understanding within our school community.

Looking ahead, our student leaders have identified several important dates throughout the year that they wish to acknowledge and celebrate. These occasions serve as opportunities for learning, reflection, and collective action. To ensure smooth participation, parents and carers will receive information regarding dress-up days, casual clothing, or any monetary contributions for charitable organizations associated with these events. It's important to note that participation in these activities is entirely voluntary, and there is no pressure on families or students to engage.

The collaborative efforts of our student leaders extend beyond event planning. They are actively brainstorming ideas for social service initiatives and on-site activities aimed at enhancing student engagement and enjoyment. These initiatives not only promote a sense of belonging but also nurture a culture of giving back to the community.

Gold coin donation to plant some lavender in our gardens for the bees.

Bees are keystone species that play a vital role in preserving ecosystem health. Bees provide essential pollination services for plants.

Maintaining plant diversity supports other essential ecosystem services including helping to regulate climate, purify air and water, build soil and recycle nutrients.

Without bees, ecosystems are at risk.
