National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA). Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, family day cares, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country.
On Wednesday morning, the Foundation and Year 1 class joined our class to read "Bowerbird Blues' by Aura Parker. The story is about a bowerbird's search across the sea, sky and city, where he swoops and snatches treasures for his collection. We then learned about bowerbirds - their diet, appearance, location and why they makes bowers. The students then wrote some detailed sentences about bowerbirds and created an art peice.
