Years F & 1

This week the students have been working hard on writing stories about how the kangaroo got their tail. We spoke about introducing the character and setting, having a problem and a solution. The students have been creative with their ideas and put some great thought into them. 

On Wednesday it was National Simultaneous Storytime and the book this year was ‘Bowerbird Blues’. We were lucky to have the 2/3 class join us and Ms Ferrier to read the story. After reading the story the students completed a book review on the story. They were super excited to work on them and they came out great. 

Also on Wednesday, we started fluency buddies as a whole school, the students loved reading to their buddies and there was some great reading taking place.
