Prayer

Prayer for Children Preparing for First Eucharist

Eucharist Masses - Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd June

Heavenly Father,

We come before You with joyful hearts, grateful for this blessed day as our children receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist for the first time. We thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ, and for His real presence in the Eucharist.

Lord, we ask You to bless these children. Fill their hearts with Your love and grace as they partake in this holy sacrament. May they always feel Your loving presence and grow in their faith each day.

Grant them the wisdom to understand the significance of this sacred moment, the courage to live out their faith boldly, and the compassion to share Your love with others. Help them to remain close to You, seeking Your guidance and finding strength in Your Word and Sacraments.

We pray for their parents, families, and godparents, that they may continue to support and nurture these children in their spiritual journey. May our homes be filled with Your peace and joy as we all grow together in faith and love.

We offer this prayer in Your holy name,

Amen.St Michael's Women's Brunch

Annual Women's Brunch

A fabulous time was had last Sunday at the annual St Michael's Women's Brunch. With a promise of learning some relaxation strategies, many of us arrived at the Hub ready for nourishment of all kinds! Upon arrival we marvelled at the beautifully arranged table settings and the relaxation space.  After some delicious treats and sparkling conversation we had the privilege of hearing Laura Baxter share with us some ideas and techniques for relaxation, which included mindfulness, movements and breath practices. She took us through some of these techniques, catering for our varying mobility and ability needs. A huge thank you to the PFA for their amazing time and efforts in arranging this event every year - such a fabulous way to bring people together.

Library Books

A call out to all families!!!

There are quite a number of library books that are overdue at the moment and we ask for the support of parents to go digging through bedrooms please to ensure these are returned as soon as possible. It's vital that we keep on top of this extremely valuable resource in our school. Thank you for your assistance!!

Eastern Division Cross Country

Congratulations to Annabelle and Alex from Year Five who took part in Monday's Division Cross Country event, representing St Michael's School. Both students finished in the top 10 and have now qualified for the

Eastern Metropolitan Region Championships being held on Thursday 13th June at Yarra Glen Racecourse. We're so proud and very excited to see how they go!!

Hoop Time Year Three/Four

We have continued our practice for Hoop Time this week and look forward to the Year Three/Four event taking place next week on Wednesday 5th June at the Nunawading Basketball Centre. Go St Michael's!!

Year Five/Six Hoop Time will be on Wednesday 12th June, also at the Nunawading Basketball Centre.

Personal Digital Devices

As you would be aware, some of our students bring their mobile devices to school as they are required to make contact with their parents in transit. The practice at St Michael's has been to place these items into their school bags between 9am and 3.30pm each day as one of our risk management strategies. As we are noticing an increase in these types of devices, many of which are also costly, as a staff we discussed another process for how to store them safely during the school day.

Starting this week, students will bring their personal digital devices to the classroom teacher at the beginning of the school day and these will be locked into a classroom box until home time. We feel this is a safer option than leaving them in school bags. If students forget to collect these, they will remain locked in classroom boxes in the locked classroom over night. As always, students bring these devices to school at their own risk and the safest place for them is still at home.

Mosaics in the Quadrangle

No doubt some of you have noticed that our beautiful mosaic displays in the quadrangle, underneath the stairs, are in dire need of repair. Can you help???

If you have equipment, skills, creativity or any artistic flare and could give us a hand in removing or repairing any of this area, please make contact with Annie Herbison in the school office. We would love for the children to be involved in this as much as possible as well.

TheirCare Out of Hours Care

As noted earlier this week via Operoo, our Out of Hours Care program will be switching to TheirCare from Monday 15th July, the beginning of Term 3. We will be holding an information evening for any parents wishing to attend to find out a little bit more about the program on Thursday 13th June, 6.15pm in the Support Room. More details about booking in for TheirCare are in the attached flier below.
