3/4 L

Term 2, Week 6

Sustainability and Critical Thinking

While some of the Grade 3/4 students attended District Cross Country last week, those of us who stayed at school had a fantastic time with some extra special learning activities. We created some artworks using watercolours and silhouettes to represent different habitats and environments, and we worked on an Escape Room that required lots of critical thinking and code breaking!

District Cross Country

Speaking of District Cross Country, several students from 3/4L competed in this grueling event last week. A huge congratulations to Sophie, Ema, Sam, Macey and Amelie who all did themselves proud with their effort and sportsmanship. Not only did all of these students finish their respective races, but Macey and Amelie also qualified for the Divisional Cross Country event in Hastings! A massive achievement, well done!

Literacy

In Literacy, we have been learning all about informative writing. Students have been able to link this to their Inquiry learning, using a variety of templates, fact files and activities to begin creating their own informative pieces about an endangered or critically endangered animal. They are looking forward to showing off their learning at our end of term Sustainability Showcase!

Moonlit Sanctuary Excursion

Just a reminder that next Friday (the 31st of May) we will be travelling by bus to Moonlit Sanctuary as part of our work on conservation and sustainability. Full school uniform is required, and it is vital that students arrive at school on time. All of the details are on Operoo. It is going to be a very exciting learning experience!
