Languages Diversity Day

On Monday 3 June Nossal celebrated Languages Diversity Day.

This is a day to celebrate, acknowledge and discover new languages and their cultures which are ever present in our community. On the day, all French and Japanese students were treated to a variety of activities.

For French students, this included a performance by The Man of a Million Faces and a West African drummer. Both these spectacles were amazing experiences and enjoyed by all students and teachers alike.

Later in the day VCE French students ran some activities for the younger year levels. This included pétanque, an artist studio, French family games and rosette making.

The hard work and effort put in by the VCE French students were evident in the success of these activities, which were enjoyed by all participants.

Japanese students also had a fantastic day, featuring a comedy performance and a mesmerizing shamisen music performance.

These activities provided an entertaining and cultural experience for all attendees. VCE Japanese students contributed by organizing a variety of engaging activities, highlighting their dedication and enthusiasm.

Throughout the day, delicious crepes were available for sale, and allowed everyone to have a taste of a French classic.

Languages Diversity Day served as a reminder of the numerous benefits of learning a language. Studying a new language can enhance your cognitive abilities, improve memory, and boost multitasking skills.

It can open up career opportunities in our increasingly globalized world and foster cultural appreciation and strong interpersonal relationships. By learning another language, students gain insights into different traditions and ways of thinking, which enriches their lives and contributes to a more inclusive and connected society.

Overall Languages Diversity Day was a resounding success, and we look forward to celebrating again next year!
