Delahey Campus Principal Message
Welcome back to Term 2. We have had a very positive start to the term with students engaged in a variety of learning programs and excursions across the school.
Term 2 is a busy term with Semester 1 and Unit 1/3 work ending mid June and mid year exams occurring to consolidate this knowledge. Semester 2 and Unit 2/4 work will commence after the King's Birthday weekend.
Thank you to Campus Leaders, Mara Aleardi and Bobby Todorovski, in collaboration with the Careers Pathways Team who have run several sessions on VTAC, Study Sessions and preparing for the exams.
Curriculum Day
Friday 26th April continued our focus on achieving the goals of our Strategic Plan. Thank you to Alex Moyer (Student Engagement Leader), Miranda Orford (Campus Leader) and Karen Martin (Campus Leader) who led the first whole school session on School Wide Positive Behaviours. Staff undertook Professional Learning in Google Suite and A1in the Classroom, led by Lance Petherick, Rasha Obucinski and Riad El Tabbal.
KLAs also had time to collaborate on curriculum maps, reports and documentation.
ES staff participated in a session called Team Success, led by an external presenter.
Peter Hitchener visits Copperfield College
In the afternoon, we were delighted and honoured by the presence of news presenter Peter Hitchener who joined staff in the afternoon session on Curriculum Day. Mr Hitchener shared stories of his own school experiences, thanked staff for their work, celebrated the college’s achievements and inspired all.
Year 12 VM Mini Pathways and Projects
Year 12 students spent Wednesday 24/4 showcasing their Mini Pathways. A successful afternoon where students attended on time, were well prepared and well presented. Students displayed maturity and strong leadership for their learning. They responded well to the questions raised and embraced the feedback provided. Public Speaking is confronting for all, but the students rose to the occasion. Of course, none of this would have been possible without the consistent support by James Inabinet, the WRS Team, all VM 12 teachers, the Pathways team and school leadership representatives.
Brimbank Careers Fair
As our VCE VM students get ready to take the next step into their future via employment, apprenticeships, traineeships, industry, TAFES, Universities or through Government organisations it is important that they have access to the best options.
The Brimbank Careers Fair provides an opportunity for students to research and receive quality information to empower them to make their next move.

Year 11 Art Making and Exhibiting
Our Year 11 Art Making & Exhibiting students recently embarked on an excursion to the 2024 NGV Triennial, immersing themselves amongst a diverse collection of thought-provoking contemporary artworks.
This excursion wasn't just about admiring incredible artworks – it was about sparking critical thinking and igniting their creativity. By experiencing how art is presented and its impact on society, our students are gaining a deeper understanding of the role they can play in the art world. Stay tuned for their artistic explorations to come!
YOUNG, BLAK & DEADLY LIVE.
Young, Blak and Deadly is an ongoing career development and mentoring program run by Creative Brimbank and independent artist, Lisa Maza (Meriam/Yidindji/Dutch) and has been running since 2021.
The program partners with artists, as well as arts and media organisations including Western Edge Youth Arts and LiveFM. Central to the program is our work with Koorie Engagement Support Officers (KESOS) and schools, including a collaboration with Copperfield College.
The program is for Blakfulla, Koori/e, Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander young people who want to hear from creative Blakfullas who are already working in the arts and media industry and doing what they love.
Young, Blak and Deadly provides opportunities to learn new skills, connect with other young, blak and deadly locals, and learn about the creative industry, behind the scenes and jobs from industry leaders.
Thank you to all the students who participated and to Libby Derks and Shefie Demiri for their support and contribution. Immense gratitude to Lisa Maza.
