ACC Senior Girls Basketball Grand Final

After taking home the ACC Junior Girls Basketball Championship last year, our now Senior Girls team made our College proud with their stellar performance in the ACC competition this year. Competing against 70 schools, they battled their way through to the Grand Final, showcasing not only their individual skill but also their impressive teamwork.

On Tuesday, 14 May we ventured to Warwick Stadium for the Grand Final. It was an extraordinary event with live streaming, professional commentators and a packed-out grandstand full of enthusiastic fans. We faced off against a formidable opponent in John Septimus Roe. Despite a challenging start to the game, our Senior Girls continued to play with determination. The third quarter was a highlight, as we narrowed the deficit to just 10 points. Competitive and resilient are just two words that come to mind when reflecting on this quarter.

Whilst the final result wasn't in our favour, our Senior Girls gave it all on the court and I couldn't be prouder. What makes this achievement all the more impressive is the youthfulness of our team. With no Year 12 students playing this year, many of our players will return next year and we are optimistic about our chances. The experience gained this season will undoubtedly fuel our drive to go all the way next year.

We extend out heartfelt congratulations to our Senior Girls for their outstanding effort and look forward to seeing what they achieve next year. Go Canons!
