VET Students Explore the Hardware and Engineering Trades 

Year 12 Cert II Construction

The Year 12 Cert II Construction class toured the Cairns Hardware workshops last week. The students gained industry knowledge in wall and roof framing and their window and glass factory. They were blown away by the size and scale of the Cairns Hardware factories and the work that happens behind the scenes to support the construction industry in FNQ. Many thanks to Mr Gregory for attending with the boys and we look forward to them attending the Makita tools truck display on Friday 14 June. 

Year 12 Engineering

Mr Ward and the Year 12 Engineering students visited the Norship yards and workshop to gain a first-hand insight into engineering in the shipping industry. Norship is holding its open day this Saturday 8 June at its shipyards where tours of workshops and some ships will be available. We encourage any students interested in the engineering and fabrication industry to attend.
